Physical Education
Discover how SCGS's PE programme builds skills, confidence and a love of active living. Students learn through sport, teamwork and play to stay healthy in school and beyond.

Philosophy
At SCGS, we believe that Physical Education is about more than developing physical skills. It is about equipping our students with the skills, knowledge and motivation to lead active, healthy and well-balanced lives — in school and beyond.
Programme
Through a broad-based PE curriculum, students are exposed to a wide range of physical activities, games and sports that develop physical competence, confidence and enjoyment of movement. Following the national PE syllabus and enhanced through our school-based programmes, our curriculum caters to different abilities and interests while providing meaningful opportunities for students to learn through experience, collaboration and play.
PE is also a valuable context for developing the E21CC competencies our students need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Through games, challenges and team-based activities, students learn to communicate, collaborate, make decisions, persevere through setbacks and demonstrate good sportsmanship. They learn to take ownership of their learning, support one another and appreciate the importance of inclusion and teamwork.
We continually seek to enhance our teaching and learning through appropriate use of educational technology, where it adds value to students’ learning and engagement.
Beyond the curriculum, inter-class games, friendly competitions and enrichment opportunities provide avenues for students to experience the joy of being active, develop positive sportsmanship and spectatorship, and build friendships and lasting memories.
Ultimately, we hope that every SCGS girl will leave school not only knowing how to stay active and fit, but wanting to do so — with the knowledge, confidence and motivation to make physical activity a meaningful part of her life
